About
Tee Max
British photographer and documentarian, preserving the heat, tension and style of a generation before icon status fully landed.
Biography
An eye for the moment before legend hardens into myth.
Tee Max built a rare visual record of hip hop and adjacent music culture at the exact point where raw talent, ambition and image were colliding. His photographs move with instinct: close enough to catch the private charge in a room, sharp enough to preserve the larger cultural shift happening in plain sight.
Working across the 1990s and early 00s, Tee Max documented artists before the machinery of fame fully set around them. The resulting archive is intimate, stylish and historically charged, part portraiture, part cultural evidence, part atmosphere.
This body of work now stands not only as photography, but as a living record of emergence: who was in the room, how they carried themselves, and what the future felt like just before it arrived.
